9.3.1 Prerequisite operating systems

#1: The range of supported JP1/Base functionality is OS-dependent. For details, see the Job Management Partner 1/Base User's Guide.
#2: Do not operate JP1/IM - View from concurrent sessions. When using JP1/IM - View with Remote Desktop Connection, you must connect to "session 0" instead of using the normal Remote Desktop Connection. To connect to "session 0", specify the /admin or /console option as follows when you start the Remote Desktop Connection application on the operating terminal (client).

mstsc.exe /console
mstsc.exe is the executable file of the Remote Desktop Connection application.
The option you specify varies according to the version of mstsc.exe. Therefore, on the operating terminal (client), execute the mstsc.exe with the /? option specified to obtain the correct option. Only one user belonging to the Administrators group can be connected to "session 0" at the same time.
#3: When you perform installation and specify settings by using Remote Desktop Connection for management, the following restrictions apply:

The Remote Desktop for Administration can only be used for installation, setup, uninstallation, and maintenance purposes.

You must connect to "session 0", but you cannot use the normal Remote Desktop Connection. To connect to "session 0", specify the /admin or /console option as follows when you start the Remote Desktop Connection application on the operating terminal (client).

#4: Only the IPF version of JP1/Base can be used on a system running Windows Server 2003 (IPF), Windows Server 2008 (IPF), or Linux (IPF).
#5: Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista version of JP1/IM - View, and Windows Vista version of JP1/IM - Manager do not support JIS 3rd level kanji and JIS 4th level kanji. If these characters are used in a definition file or as a command argument on JP1/IM - View, the characters might be garbled and might not work correctly.
#6: Only the IPF version of JP1/IM - Manager can be used on a system running Linux (IPF).
#7: Do not operate JP1/IM - View from concurrent sessions. Always operate JP1/IM - View from a single session when using Remote Desktop Connection to operate JP1/IM - View.
#8: When you use Remote Desktop Connection for Administration to perform installation or to specify settings, the following restrictions apply:
