Appendix E.2 Collecting the error log

The error log of Eclipse is collected by either of the following two methods:

  1. Collecting the error log from the Configuration tag in the Eclipse Installation Details dialog box.
  2. Directly collecting the error log file

Each operating method is described below:

(1) Collecting from the Configuration tag of the Eclipse Installation Details dialog box

To collect the error log:

  1. From the Eclipse menu bar, choose Help - About Eclipse.
    The About Eclipse dialog box appears.
  2. Click the Installation Details button.
    The Eclipse Installation Details dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Configuration tab.
    The Configuration information is displayed.
  4. Click the Show Error Log button.
    The contents of the error log will be displayed on the Web browser. Save the contents.

(2) Directly collecting the error log file

The error log file is recorded in the following file. Collect this file directly. If a backup of the error log file exists, collect that backup file as well.
