Job Management Partner 1/Software Distribution Client Description and User's Guide
The rdsafrcvr command recovers management files.
Description
This command recovers the contents of a management file handled by JP1/Software Distribution Client, by using a backup made by the rdsafbkup command. With this command, a management file resumes the state present before a backup is made. So, the file state after backup acquisition is lost.
Use this command when JP1/Software Distribution Client is in a stop status.
Format
rdsafrcvr [-f file-name] [-k management-file-type [management-file-type...]]
Options
- -f file-name
- Specify the name of a file you have backed up. Specify a file name that has been specified with the rdsafbkup command. If you omit this option, the system uses the default device of the tar command for recovery.
- -k management-file-type ~ ((G, X))
- Specify the type of a management file you want to recover.
- G
- Operation information file
- X
- Job management file
- If you omit this option, the system recovers all management files.
End code
End code Meaning 0 Command processing terminated normally. 99 JP1/Software Distribution Client is running. 254 The user who entered the command is not the system administrator. 255 An attempt to recover a management file failed.
Notes
- If you execute another command of JP1/Software Distribution Client or terminate the rdsafrcvr command abnormally with the interrupt key during recovery processing of a management file, a file mismatch can occur. If such a mismatch occurs, the contents of the management file are unpredictable.
- To recover a management file, a work area for recovery is required. Specifying a directory name in the TMPDIR environment variable creates a file used as a work area under the directory. In this case, specify in TMPDIR a directory that can provide enough free space for holding all management files to be recovered. For the method of calculating the space required for each management file, see 6.2 Estimating of the disk space and memory requirements. If you specify no directory in TMPDIR, the system creates a work area under the /tmp directory.
- File recovery is impossible in the background.
