Job Management Partner 1/Software Distribution Client Description and User's Guide
The rdsusnd command reports the user resource status.
Description
This command reports the text contents of a user resource status file to the managing server.
Format
rdsusnd user-resource-status-file-name [-n] [-hhost-file-name or host-name] [-mmanaging-host-name] [-Nservice-name]
Options
- -hhost-file-name or host-name
- host-file-name
- Specify a host file when you want JP1/Software Distribution Client to report the text contents of the user resource status file according to the attribute setting (such as RetryCount) specified in the host file.
- If the -m option is specified, specify in the -h option the host file of the relay system specified by the -m option. To specify the -h option on a relay system or a UNIX machine connected to a relay system that is directly connected to the managing server, specify the host file of that relay system.
- host-name
- If the rdsusnd command is executed from a system for which the operating environment is not set, specify the host name of the managing server.
- -mmanaging-host-name
- If the report of the text contents of the user resource status file transits two or more relay systems before arriving at the managing server, specify the host name of the relay system that is directly connected to the managing server.
- You need not specify the -m option if the report is to come from one of the following machines:
- Relay system that is directly connected to the managing server
- UNIX machine connected to a relay system that is directly connected to the managing server
- End workstation
- -Nservice-name
- In service-name, specify the service name for the managing server to which you want to report the user resource status.
- -n
- Specify this option to disable writing into the user resource status file from the UNIX machine.
- user-resource-status-file-name
- Specify the absolute pathname of a user resource status file. For details on the user resource status file, see 4.5.3 Reporting user resource status.
End code
End code Meaning 0 Terminated normally. 249 Impossible to allocate memory. 250 System error occurred. 251 The user resource status file is invalid. 252 Options are incorrect. 253 Internal error occurred. 254 Communication error occurred. 255 Hard disk space is insufficient.
Notes
- Enter the options of the rdsusnd command in order as arranged in the Format section. An incorrect sequence in which you specified the options results in an error.
- Do not delete the host file before JP1/Software Distribution Client reports the contents of the user resource status file to the managing server.
- If JP1/Software Distribution Client fails to send the contents of the user resource status file because of a communication error, it attempts to send again the next time it executes the rdsusnd command. For sending at that time, the previously specified host file becomes invalid and the host file specified at this time is valid.
- The rdsusnd command cannot report the installation status of a Hitachi program product, another company's software, or an OS patch to the managing server.
