7.6 Acquiring software information

You can acquire information for software installed on lower-level systems from the managing server.

In addition, information can be periodically collected if the managing server is a Windows version of JP1/Software Distribution Manager 02-02 or later. There are three types of collection periods: daily, weekly, and monthly. For details, see the Windows manual. When a collection period is specified, information on the added software is collected only when new software information is added. Software information acquisition is executed while the system is running even if you specify the acquisition execution timing.

Note that information about deleted software is not reported to the managing server, and therefore is not automatically deleted from the managing server. To check the latest software information, delete the package status file of the managing server, and then acquire software information.

The following shows software information that is acquired from the managing server. For JP1/Software Distribution SubManager Version 06-51 or earlier or JP1/Software Distribution Client Version 06-51 or earlier, only software information on Hitachi program products and UAPs is acquired.
