4.2.2 Deleting a client system from the system configuration information

In an environment that allows automatic registration of the system configuration, deleting JP1/Software Distribution Client from the system configuration allows you to automatically report the deletion of the system to the upper-level systems. Use the rdssys -u command of the client services to delete the system from the system configuration information. For details about the rdssys -u command for JP1/Software Distribution Client, see 9. Command Operations for Client Services and Generator Tools.

The rdssys -u command only updates the system configuration information about the system in which the command is executed. Executing this command in a relay system does not update any configuration information of lower-level systems. If you change the settings after deleting the system, the distribution-destination system reports the changes in the definition to the managing server.

When the managing server is Windows JP1/Software Distribution Manager, you can automatically apply the deletion of lower-level systems to the system configuration information by selecting the check box labeled Modify the ID group members automatically according to the system configuration? during setup.
