Job Management Partner 1/Software Distribution Client Description and User's Guide
To automatically register the system-configuration information, set SYSCNS=YES in the operating-environment settings file of both the relay system and the end workstation. For details on the settings, see 6.8 Configuring the operating-environment settings file in PART 2.
This setting is not required in either of the following cases:
- The distributor tools of JP1/Software Distribution Client are used for the managing server.
- The managing server is the Windows version of JP1/Software Distribution Manager and is set to use a host ID.
Information regarding automatic registration of system configuration in JP1/Software Distribution Client is stored in the following directory. Do not change the files under this directory.
- For systems other than HP-UX: /NETMRDS/CLIENT/
- For HP-UX: /var/opt/NETMDMW/CLIENT/
You can set up the system such that the types of information described below can be reported as the system-configuration information. To do so, you must first create the files described below on the distribution-destination system. These files can also be batch-distributed from the managing server.
