2.5.3 Selecting the package to install (Send package, allow client to choose job)

When distributing packages from the managing server, you can set to allow the selection of the package to install at the distribution-destination system (client-user selected installation), instead of performing automatic installation.

Figure 2-4 shows the flow of the client-user selected installation.

Figure 2-4 Selecting packages at a distribution-destination system

[Figure]

For relay systems that are not directly connected to the managing servers, execute the following commands in the same manner as the client workstation.

A package that has passed the installation deadline specified by the managing server cannot be installed in a relay system or client workstation. Use the rdsinsset -r command to reject installation of expired packages.

For the client-user selected installation, the relay system stores the packages in the temporary package storehouse, but does not distribute them to the distribution-destination system or notify the arrival of a package. Therefore, the distribution-destination system checks whether a package toward the local client has arrived, and then selects the package to install.
