1.1 Overview of the JP1/Software Distribution system

JP1/Software Distribution is a group of programs for distributing software over a network. The following describes the main programs and their functions.

JP1/Software Distribution Manager: Software distribution feature

JP1/Software Distribution Client (relay system): Software relay function

JP1/Software Distribution Client (distribution-destination system): Software distribution destination functions

Hereafter, unless it is necessary to differentiate JP1/Software Distribution Manager and Software Distribution separately, they will be generically referred to as JP1/Software Distribution Manager.

To distribute software using JP1/Software Distribution, the applicable programs from those shown above must be installed and set up on all machines used for distribution.

The network in which the JP1/Software Distribution programs are installed and which enables distribution management of software is called the JP1/Software Distribution system.
