1. Overview

When a networked system consists of a great many UNIX and Windows machines, managing the software resources across the whole system can be onerous and time-consuming. JP1/Software Distribution Client and the other programs in the JP1/Software Distribution series are designed to ease management tasks, enabling centralized management of all the software resources in a networked system.
