11.3.1 Holding or canceling a job

When the job hold and cancellation facility is enabled, the Hold or Cancel Software Distribution Job dialog box is displayed.

The Hold or Cancel Software Distribution Job dialog box shows a list of the jobs that have been downloaded.

Job type/Package name
Displays the job type (Get software information from client) or package name.

Operation
Displays the operation you selected for the job (Execute, Hold, or Cancel).

Timing
Displays the installation time set for the package.

Size
Displays the package size.

Date
Displays the date on which the job arrived at the client.

OK
You click this button to execute the operation selected with the Execute, Hold, or Cancel button and close the dialog box.

Execute
You click this button to execute the selected job (shown in reverse video).

Hold
You click this button to hold temporarily execution of the selected job (shown in reverse video).

Cancel
You click this button to reject execution of the selected job (shown in reverse video).

Confirm when the job operation is changed.
Select this option if you want to display a confirmation box every time the Execute, Hold, or Cancel button is used to change a job operation, and when the OK button is clicked.

XXX seconds until operation
XXX shows the remaining number of seconds that the dialog box will remain displayed, as specified in Setup.

To use the Hold or Cancel Software Distribution Job dialog box to hold or cancel a job:

  1. Select the job to be held or canceled. In Job operation, select one of the options.
    Click the Execute, Hold, or Cancel button to specify the desired operation for the job, and then choose OK. To display a confirmation dialog box each time a button is chosen, select Confirm when the job operation is changed.
  2. Choose OK.
    The job is processed according to the specified operation.
    The XXX seconds until operation indicator in the Hold or Cancel Software Distribution Job dialog box shows the remaining number of seconds the dialog box specified will be displayed. This display is hidden if you click on it. When the specified number of seconds has elapsed without any operation being performed in the dialog box (the remaining time display reaches 0 seconds), the operation displayed under Operation is executed and the dialog box is closed.
