10.2.4 Changing device information (Batch Update)

This section explains how to collectively change the management information for devices, such as a group.

To change device management information in the batch mode, start from the Batch Update window, which is displayed by clicking the Batch Update job menu item. The following figure shows the Batch Update window.

Clicking an Asset No. link enables you to reference and edit the detailed information about that device.

The procedure for changing the management information for devices is explained here using an example in which the management group for devices is changed from the Asset Management Department to the General Affairs Department.

  1. Specify Headquarters/Asset Management Department for the Group name search condition, and then click the Search button.
    Devices used by the Asset Management Department are searched.
  2. Click the Select All button and then click the OK button.
    The Set Changes dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Group name check box.
  4. Click the Browse button of Group name to display the Browse Groups dialog box. In the Browse Groups dialog box, choose General Affairs Department.
    For Group name, Headquarters/General Affairs Department is specified.
    To cancel, click the Close button.
  5. Click the Update button.
    The Set Changes dialog box closes, and the management group assigned to use the devices is changed from the Asset Management Department to the General Affairs Department.
    From the Set Changes dialog box, select the check box of the item to be changed. To delete a registered value, select the check box, and then click the Update button without setting a value. However, the values for Status, Usage management, and Device type cannot be deleted.

The following figure shows the Set Changes dialog box with the new location specified.
