8.2.1 Displaying the Define New Job dialog box

Use the Define New Job dialog box to define a new job.

The method for opening the Define New Job dialog box differs depending on the window of Remote Installation Manager in which the job is created.

(1) To create a job in the Job Definition window

From File, choose Create Job.

(2) To create a job in the Destination, System Configuration or Directory Information window

From Execute, choose Execute Job or click the Execute Job button.

(3) To create a job in the Package window

From Execute, choose Execute Job (or click the Execute Job button) to create the following types of jobs only:

If you selected in advance a host or package for the job execution, information about it is displayed in the Create Job dialog box that appears later.

If you are creating an Install package, Transfer package to relay system, or Send package, allow client to choose job, you can also use drag-and-drop to display the Define New Job dialog box. Also in this case, information about a selected host and package is displayed in the Create Job dialog box that appears later.

To use drag-and-drop to display the Define New Job dialog box:

  1. From the Package window, drag the package (or cabinet) icon.
    If you drag a cabinet, all the packages in the cabinet are included in the operation.
  2. In the Destination, System Configuration or Directory Information window, drop the package (or cabinet) onto the host icon.
    The Define New Job dialog box is displayed.
