3.4.6 How to manually assign Active Directory computer information and JP1/Software Distribution system configuration information

You can associate Active Directory computer information with JP1/Software Distribution system configuration information by using the directory information acquisition command (dcmadsync.exe). Therefore, depending on the directory information update timing, the information might be treated as being not associated. In such a case, manually assign Active Directory computer information to JP1/Software Distribution system configuration information.

For details about the assignment of Active Directory computer information to JP1/Software Distribution system configuration information, see 2.10.3 Relationship between system configuration information and directory information in the manual Description and Planning Guide.

To assign Active Directory computer information to JP1/Software Distribution system configuration information:

  1. In Remote Installation Manager's Directory Information window, from the left-hand pane, choose a computer name. Or, choose a computer name from the list displayed when the List tab is chosen in the right-hand pane.
  2. From the File menu, choose Re-assign System Configuration Information.
    The target hosts are displayed in the Select Assignment Target Host dialog box.

    The Select Assignment Target Host dialog box displays the following items:
    • Host name
    • Host ID
    • IP address
    • Node name
    • Registration date/time
  3. When the Select Assignment Target Host dialog box is displayed, select the row containing the assignment target host and then click the OK button.
    Assignment is executed with the selected host and then the Select Assignment Target Host dialog box closes.
