2.2.3 Performing operation from the list view

The statuses frame that displays the list view also displays the following operation buttons:

Choose the button for the desired operation.

The following figure shows the flow of processing for when the above buttons are chosen.

Figure 2-6 Flow of processing for when the operation buttons are used

[Figure]

Flow of processing (The following numbers correspond to those in Figure 2-6)

1. When you select one or more items to operate, and click an operation button, the operation confirmation frame is displayed. If no items are selected, a dialog box indicating so will be displayed, and no operation will take place.

2. The operation confirmation frame displays options that can be specified for the operation, and a list of items for which operation is to be performed. Like the list view in the Monitor window, operation will not be performed for items whose check boxes are not selected in the list in the operation confirmation frame.

3. By clicking the Cancel button in the operation confirmation frame, the user will return to the Monitor window without performing the operation, at which time the most recent information will be re-acquired.

4. When the Run button in the operation confirmation frame is clicked, the operation with the selected option will be performed for the selected items.

5. The operations results frame is displayed, along with a list of the operation results for each operation target. The status confirmation frame is also displayed if it has been set to be displayed in the user environment settings.

6. By clicking the Return to Status View button once the operation results are confirmed, the user will return to the Monitor window (at this time, the latest information is acquired).

7. When the status confirmation frame is displayed, if the user clicks the Display Selected on Status View button once the operation results are confirmed, the user will return to the Monitor window. At this time, only the selected items are displayed. If no items are selected, a dialog box indicating this will be displayed, and the window does not change.

If a command executed by using an operation button caused an error on the execution destination JP1/AJS3 - Manager or JP1/AJS2 - Manager, a message is output to the system log and Hitachi integrated trace log, just as it would if the same command were executed on the host.

Note that units whose names contain an asterisk (*), question mark (?), backslashes (\), double quotation marks ("), back quotation marks (`), or square brackets ([ ]) cannot be selected for operation. The check box of the corresponding row in the status list is disabled.
