2.2.5 Setup for operation while Outlook is running (Outlook 2002 or later)

Outlook 2002 and later versions have different internal specifications from earlier versions. Due to these changes, if Outlook 2002 is running during execution of an email sending job or email reception monitoring job, the job might fail to control Outlook in such a way that email is immediately sent or received. In this case, the job status might change to Ended abnormally, or some other unexpected problem might occur. You can avoid such problems by setting an environment setting parameter beforehand to prevent an email sending job or email reception monitoring job from sending or receiving email immediately when Outlook is running.

The following environment setting parameter determines whether email is sent and received immediately:

Definition key
[JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AOMAGENT\mail_link]

Environment setting parameter
"ImmediateSendRecv"="{Y|N}"
Specifies whether to immediately send and receive email.
The default is Y.

Y
The job causes Outlook to send or receive email immediately.

N
The job does not attempt to control Outlook operation. Outlook is left to send and receive email independently of the job.
Accordingly, the Outlook icon remains in the task bar after the job terminates. When N is specified, email is sent and received at an interval defined in the Outlook options. For details on setting the Outlook options, see Outlook Help.

Setting procedure:
To set the environment setting parameter:
  1. Execute the following command:
    jajs_config -k [JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AOMAGENT\mail_link] "ImmediateSendRecv"="N"
    or
    jajs_config -k [JP1_DEFAULT\JP1AOMAGENT\mail_link] "ImmediateSendRecv"="Y"
