Determine the environment settings for JP1/AJS3 - Console, referring to the recommended values and setting criteria given in the following tables.
- Organization of this subsection
- (1) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 Console Manager
- (2) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 Console Agent
(1) Environment settings for JP1/AJS3 Console Manager
Set values in the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager environment definition file (ajs2cm.conf).
Table 4-10 JP1/AJS3 Console Manager settings (ajs2cm.conf)
Setting description and parameter Criterion for changing the setting Recommended value When the setting takes effect
- Maximum session count
- MAXSESSION
If the maximum number of connections from JP1/AJS3 Console View is likely to exceed 16, increase the value accordingly. If there are resource constraints and you need to limit JP1/AJS3 - Console View connections, reduce the value. Use the default (16). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Timeout for remote communication
- IPC_TIMEOUT
Specify a non-zero value if you want to explicitly specify a timeout period different from the OS timeout (unit: seconds). Use the default (0). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Retry interval
- IPCRETRYINTERVAL
Change this parameter, and the retry count value, according to the communication error status (unit: seconds). Use the default (1). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Retry count
- IPCRETRYCOUNT
Change this parameter, and the retry interval value, according to the communication error status. Use the default (3). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Connection timeout
- SESSIONTIMEOUT
No particular criteria (unit: minutes). Use the default (120). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Severity level of messages output to the integrated trace log
- HNTRLOGLEVEL
Specify this parameter if you want to output more detailed information to the integrated trace log. Use the default. When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Data directory name
- DATADIRECTORY
Specify this parameter if you want to store definition data in a directory other than the default directory. Use the default. When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Retry interval for connection to JP1/AJS3 Console Agent
- RECONNECTINTERVAL
Specify this parameter if you want to change the retry interval for connecting to the JP1/AJS3 Console Agent to be monitored (unit: seconds). Use the default (300). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Name of the trace log file
- TRACELOGFILE
No particular criteria. Use the default. When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
- Timeout for remote connection
- IPC_CONNECTTIMEOUT
No particular criteria (seconds). Use the default (20). When the JP1/AJS3 Console Manager service is restarted
