4.3.3 Environment settings related to event job activation

This subsection describes the environment settings related to starting event jobs in a JP1/AJS3 - Manager host.

If using event jobs, determine the settings for JP1/AJS3 - Manager, referring to the recommended values and setting criteria given in the following table.

For a logical host, specify the directory name on the shared disk. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

File update mode for manager processes

Environment setting parameter:

FileWriteMode

Set sync to update the wait information file in synchronous write mode. This setting improves reliability, but at a performance cost. Choose sync when reliability is paramount, as in a cluster system, for example.
Set nosync to update wait information files by writing to the disk using OS buffering, without synchronizing with JP1/AJS3 processes. This setting gives better performance than sync, but if a system failure occurs, the data might be inconsistent and events might be lost.
Choose the appropriate write mode according to your performance, reliability, and operational requirements. Specify nosync for a physical host.
In a cluster system, specify sync. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Name of the directory for inherited event job information

Environment setting parameter:

EvjobInfFile

Set this parameter if you want files of inherited information, received by a Receive Mail job or Receive MQ Message job, to be output to a folder other than the default folder. Set this parameter also if using a cluster system. Leave blank for a physical host.
For a logical host, specify the directory name on the shared disk. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Name of the directory for files related to agent process wait information

Environment setting parameter:

WaitInfFileOutDir of the definition key JP1AOMAGENT

Inheritance of Monitoring Files job information

Environment setting parameter:

FilewatchinfContinue

Change the setting to resume monitoring at system restart without inheriting the previous monitoring status of a Monitoring Files job that is defined in a start condition and was being executed when the system was shut down. Determine according to your system operation. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Whether to continue event job execution

Environment setting parameter:

EvJobExecContinue

Change the setting to continue execution, when the JP1/AJS3 service is restarted, of event jobs that were being executed when the JP1/AJS3 service stopped on the executing host. N (do not continue) The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Determine the JP1/AJS3 - Manager settings for linking to a mail system, referring to the recommended values and setting criteria given in the following tables.

To use mail system linkage with the JP1/AJS3 service, specify the profile created by the local user.

Note 2:

If multiple users will be using mail system linkage on the desktop, create the same profile with the same profile name for each user.

Linked mail client

Environment setting parameter:

WINMAILCLIENT

Specify either of the following programs as the mail client:

0 (one-byte numeric)
Set 0 to link to Outlook 2000 in Windows Server 2003.

Outlook 2007
The default is 0. Choose the appropriate value for the mail client to be used. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Processing after receiving mail

Environment setting parameter:

AfterReceiveMail

Specify either of the following options for handling received mail:

O (upper-case letter)
Set O to mark received messages as opened after a Receive Mail job ends.

D
Set D to delete received messages after a Receive Mail job ends.

The default is O. O (opened) The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Passing of sender's address

Environment setting parameter:

NextAddress

Specify either of the following items of information to pass to MLRCVADDRESS in a Receive Mail job.
This setting affects all Receive Mail jobs that run on the host on which the setting was performed.

Address
Set Address to pass the sender's mail address.
If you are using the profile set in the Internet Mail service, the address you set here can be used as the recipient of a subsequent Send Mail job.

Nickname
Set Nickname to pass the display name (nickname).
If you are using the profile set in Exchange Server, Microsoft Mail, or Groupmax, the nickname you set here can be used as the recipient of a subsequent Send Mail job.

The default is Address. Address (mail address) The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Use of mail system linkage

Environment setting parameter:

ExecMode

Specify whether to use mail system linkage. Set any of the following:

N
Do not use mail system linkage.

D
Use mail system linkage by launching the mail monitoring process on the desktop.

S
Use mail system linkage within the JP1/AJS3 service.

Specify the name of the directory for the mail files containing messages of the user specified in UserName. You can use 1 to 180 characters. Specify a directory that is different from the directory specified in the environment setting parameter NotMatchMailDir. If you omit this parameter, the default /var/opt/jp1ajs2/tmp/mailbox is assumed and you must set the mail delivery function. For details about this function, see jpomailrecv (UNIX only) in 2. File name for storing mail that matches the monitoring conditions

Environment setting parameter:

MailFileName

Specify the full pathname of the file in which to save mail that matches the monitoring conditions. You can use 1 to 255 characters. Specify a file other than a mail file for the user name specified in the environment setting parameter UserName. The user mail files are stored in the directory specified in the environment setting parameter MailFileDir. Dependent on the user's environment. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts

Name of the directory for storing mail that does not match the monitoring conditions

Environment setting parameter:

NotMatchMailDir

Specify the full pathname of the directory for files of saved mail that do not match the monitoring conditions. You can use 1 to 180 characters. Specify a directory that is different from the directory specified in the environment setting parameter MailFileDir. If you omit this parameter, messages that do not match the monitoring conditions will be discarded. Dependent on the user's environment. The next time the JP1/AJS3 service starts
