4.1.1 Host List page

The Host List page in the IM Configuration Management window lists the hosts registered in IM Configuration Management. The Host List page has two parts: a tree display area in which the hosts are listed in a tree structure, and a node information display area in which detailed information about the nodes displayed in the tree is displayed.

Tree display area
Lists the hosts registered in the system hierarchy in a tree structure. The following table describes the items displayed in the tree display area.

Display item Description
[Figure] Indicates a group.
When a group is selected, the lower-host information for the group is displayed in the node information display area. If there are no lower hosts, nothing is displayed in the node information display area.
[Figure] Indicates a host. When a host is selected, detailed information about the host is displayed in the node information display area.
[Figure] Indicates a virtual host. When a virtual host is selected, detailed information about the virtual host is displayed in the node information display area.
The virtual-host tree is always expanded.

Node information display area
The node information display area on the Host List page displays information about the node item selected in the tree display area. The user can change the information that is displayed by clicking one of the following four buttons below.

Lists the hosts positioned lower than the selected host.

[Figure] (Basic Information button)
Displays the basic information about a host.

[Figure] (Product Information button)
Displays information about the product installed on the host.

[Figure] (Service Information button)
Displays information about the services running on the host.

Whether information can be displayed depends on the type of the host selected in the tree display area. The following table describes the relationship between host type and information that can be displayed.

Legend:
Y: Can be displayed.
N: Cannot be displayed.

#1: Displayed if there are lower virtual hosts.

#2: Displayed if host information has already been collected.

(1) Lower Host Information

This area displays the full path name of the node selected in the tree display area, and the hosts positioned lower than the host selected in the tree. For example, if the user selects the upper-level host of a virtual host in the tree (VMM host), the virtual host is displayed. If Host List at the top of the tree is selected, all hosts are displayed.

The following figure shows an example of the window displayed when the Lower Host Information button is clicked.

Lower Host Information
The items to be displayed in the Lower Host Information area, such as Host, IP address, and Host type can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks an item name.
The following table describes the items that can be displayed in the Lower Host Information area.

Host#1, #2 The name of a managed host.
Example: HostA
IP address#1 The IP addresses of the managed host.
Example: 10.208.40.40
Host name list A list of managed hosts to be managed and their alias names.
Example: HostB, HostC
Actual host name The name actually specified for the managed host.
Example: HostA
Host type#1 One of the following four host types:
  • Physical host
  • Virtual host
  • Logical host
  • Unknown
Active host#3 The name of the physical host that is the active logical host.
Example: HostA
Standby host#3 The name of the physical host that is the standby logical host.
Example: HostA
VMM host#4 The name of the host on which VMM is running.
Example: HostA
OS#1 The name of the OS running on the physical host.
Example: Windows
Collection status One of the following three statuses, which is the status following host information collection when the managed host was connected to JP1/Base:
  • Not collected
  • Collected
  • Collection failed
Collection date/time The date and time that the host information was last collected.
Example: 2008/01/14 12:34:14
Configuration type One of the following four IM configuration types:
  • Integrated manager
  • Base manager
  • Relay manager
  • Agent
Configuration application date/time The date and time of an addition to or deletion from the system hierarchy.
Example: 2008/01/14 12:34:14
Comment#1 A comment.
Example: HQ server

#1: This item is displayed by default.

#2: This item cannot be hidden.

#3: This item is displayed only if the host type is Logical host.

#4: This item is displayed only if the host type is Virtual host.


(2) Basic Information

This area displays the full path name, basic information, and detailed information for the host selected in the tree display area. The following figure shows an example of the window displayed when the Basic Information button is clicked.

Basic Information
The items to be displayed in the Basic Information area, such as Name, Status, and Date/time, can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks an item name.
The following table describes the items that can be displayed in the Basic Information area.

Name#1, #2 The following:
  • Host information
  • IM configuration application
  • IM configuration verification
  • Profile collection
  • Profile application
Status#1 The status after the collection, application, or verification of information.

For Host information:
Collected, Not collected, or Collection failed is displayed as the status of host information collection.

For IM configuration application:
Applied, Not applied, or Application failed is displayed as the status of system hierarchy application.

For IM configuration verification:
Match, Does not match, Verification failed, or Not yet verified is displayed as the status of system hierarchy verification.

For Profile collection:
Collected, Not collected, Partially collected, or Collection failed is displayed as the status of profile collection.

For Profile application:
Applied, Not applied, or Application failed is displayed as the status of profile application.
As the initial condition (profile application has not been performed yet), nothing is displayed.
Date/time#1 The time#3 on the manager that the collection, application, or verification of information was last performed in the JP1/IM - View locale.
For profile application, however, the time on the agent that profile was applied correctly by the JP1/IM - View locale.
Example: 2008/01/14 12:34:14

#1: This item is displayed by default.

#2: This item cannot be hidden.

#3: The time on the manager on which IM Configuration Manager is running is used.


Detailed Information
The following table describes the items displayed in the Detailed Information area.

OS The name of the OS running on the physical host.
Example: Windows
VMM host#1 The name of the host on which VMM is running.
Example: HostA
Comment A comment.

Host The name of a managed host.
Example: HostA
Host name list A list of managed hosts and their alias names.
Example: HostB, HostC
Host type One of the following four host types:
  • Physical host
  • Virtual host
  • Logical host
  • Unknown host
Collection date/time The date and time that host information was last collected.
Example: 2008/01/14 12:34:14
Collection status One of the following three statuses, which is the status following host information collection when the managed host was connected to JP1/Base:
  • Not collected
  • Collected
  • Collection failed
Actual host name The name actually specified for the managed host.
Example: HostA
Active host#2 The name of the physical host that is the active logical host.
Example: HostA
Standby host#2 The name of the physical host that is the standby logical host.
Example: HostA
Configuration type One of the following four IM configuration types:
  • Integrated manager
  • Base manager
  • Relay manager
  • Agent

#1: This item is displayed only if the host type is Virtual host.

#2: This item is displayed only if the host type is Logical host.


(3) Product Information

This area displays the full path name, product information, and detailed information of the host selected in the tree display area. The following figure shows an example of the window displayed when the Product Information button is clicked.

Product Information
The items to be displayed in the Product Information area, such as Product name and Version, can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks the item name.
The following table describes the items that can be displayed in the Product Information area.

Product name#1, #2 The product name.
Example: JP1/Base
Version#1 The product version.
Example: 0900

#1: This item is displayed by default.

#2: This item cannot be hidden.


Detailed Information
The items to be displayed in the Detailed Information area, such as Product name, Product module, Version, and Installation path, can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks the item name.
The following table describes the items that can be displayed in the Detailed Information area.

Product name The product name.
Example: JP1/Base
Product module# The product module.
Example: P-242C-6L94
Version# The product version.
Example: 0900
Installation path# The installation directory for the product.
Example: c:\Program files\Hitachi\JP1Base

#: If the version of JP1/Base running on the host is 9 or earlier, only information for Product name is displayed. All other items are blank.


(4) Service Information

This area displays the full path name, service information, and detailed information for the host selected in the tree display area. The following figure shows an example of the window displayed when the Service Information button is clicked.

Service Information
The items to be displayed in the Service Information area, such as Product name, Service name, and Startup status, can be selected from the menu displayed when the user right-clicks the item name.
The following table describes the items that can be displayed in the Service Information area.

Product name#1 The product name of the service.
Example: JP1/Base
Service name#1, #2 The service name.
Example: Event service
Startup status#1, #2 One of the following four service startup statuses:
  • Running
  • Stopped
  • Partially running
  • Collection failed

#1: This item is displayed by default.

#2: This item cannot be hidden.


Detailed Information
The Detailed Information area displays commands that the user can use to check the status of the service, and displays the standard error output.
