2.11.2 Communication page

The following figure shows an example of the Communication page of the System Environment Settings window.

The following describes the items displayed on the Communication page of the System Environment Settings window.

Num. of retries

Specifies the number of times JP1/IM - View automatically retries connection when JP1/IM - View fails to connect to the event service or JP1/IM - View is disconnected from the event service. The range of specifiable values is from 0 to 100. The default is 3.

Interval

Specifies in milliseconds the interval at which JP1/IM - View automatically retries connection when JP1/IM - View fails to connect to the event service or JP1/IM - View is disconnected from the event service. The range of specifiable value is from 1 to 86,400,000. The default is 10,000.

jcochstat command

Specifies whether to allow the user to use the jcochstat command.

The jcochstat command can be used to change the event status. However, if it is inconvenient to have the user change the event status, the administrator can prevent the user from using this command.

If the Permit status change check box is selected, the user can use the jcochstat command.

JP1/IM - Console View

This setting, applicable only in JP1/IM version 7 or later, is used to specify whether to allow JP1/IM - Console View version 6 to connect to JP1/IM - Manager or to Central Console version 7.

If a JP1 user who has JP1_Console_User permission connects JP1/IM - Console View version 6 to JP1/IM - Manager or to Central Console version 7, the user can perform operations that require JP1_Console_Operator permission. The user can also operate the system with the JP1_Console_Operator permission even if no permissions have been granted. If this situation is undesirable, the administrator can prevent connection from JP1/IM - Console View version 6.

Selecting the Permit connection from V6(6i) check box allows connection from JP1/IM - Console View version 6.
