5.4.9 Configuring the product name display function

You can change the format of keys and service IDs used for Performance Management to product names by enabling the product name display function. For details on the product name display function, see 4.1.2 Displaying and specifying services.

Use the jpcconf prodname command to configure the product name display function. For details on the jpcconf prodname command, see the chapters that describe commands in the manual Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Reference.

(1) Checking the current settings of the product name display function

To check the settings of the product name display function:

  1. Log on to the host for which you want to check the current settings of the product name display function.
  2. Execute the jpcconf prodname display command.
    The current settings of the product name display function appear.
    An example of executing this command is as follows (while the product name display function is enabled):
     
    C:\Program Files\Hitachi\jp1pc\tools>jpcconf prodname display
    Available
     
    For the logical host operations, specify a logical host name that you want to check the current settings in the -lhost option.

(2) Enabling the product name display function

To enable the product name display function:

  1. Log on to the host where you want to enable the product name display function.
  2. Stop all Performance Management services on the host.
    For details on how to stop services, see the chapter that describes starting and stopping Performance Management in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide. For the logical host operations, use the cluster software to stop the logical host on which Performance Management has been registered.
  3. Execute the jpcconf prodname enable command.
    The product name display function is enabled.
    For the logical host operations, specify a logical host name that you want to enable the product name display function in the -lhost option.
  4. Start all Performance Management services on the host.
    For details on starting services, see the chapter that describes starting and stopping Performance Management in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide. For the logical host operations, use the cluster software to start the logical host on which Performance Management has been registered.

(3) Disabling the product name display function

To disable the product name display function:

  1. Log on to the host where you want to disable the product name display function.
  2. Stop all Performance Management services on the host.
    For details on how to stop services, see the chapter that describes starting and stopping Performance Management in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide. For the logical host operations, use the cluster software to stop the logical host on which Performance Management has been registered.
  3. Execute the jpcconf prodname disable command.
    The product name display function is disabled.
    For the logical host operations, specify a logical host name that you want to enable the product name display function in the -lhost option.
  4. Start all Performance Management services on the host.
    For details on starting the services, see the chapter that describes starting and stopping Performance Management in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide. For the logical host operations, use the cluster software to start the logical host on which Performance Management has been registered.
