Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management Planning and Configuration Guide
This subsection describes the formats for service IDs and service keys used to display and specify services.
A Performance Management service has the following two identifiers:
- Service ID
- Service key
In Performance Management 09-00 and later, enabling the product name display function allows you to change the formats for the service IDs and the service keys you can display and specify.
For details on the Performance Management products required for using the product name display function, see (2) Coverage of the product name display function.
- Organization of this subsection
- (1) Overview of the product name display function
- (2) Coverage of the product name display function
- (3) Configuring the product name display function
(1) Overview of the product name display function
You can use the product name display function to change the service identifier format for Performance Management. If this function is enabled, each identifier displays the name of the program to be monitored. This makes it easier to identify the service. After the format is changed, it is called the product name.
For details on the format of the identifier in each case when the product name display function is enabled and disabled, see B.1 Naming rules for services.
The following figures provide examples of the monitoring console displays and the outputs generated when you execute the commands.
Figure 4-3 Example of the Services tree displayed on the monitoring console (if the product name display function is enabled)
Figure 4-4 Example of the Services tree displayed on the monitoring console (if the product name display function is disabled)
Figure 4-5 Example of the output generated when the jpctool service list command is executed (if the product name display function is enabled)

- Reference note
- To display the output generated when the jpctool service list command is executed as a product name, enable the product name display function and then specify the -v option.
(2) Coverage of the product name display function
The following table shows the coverage of the product name display function. For all other items, even if this function is enabled, you cannot use the product name to display the identifier. This table also describes all the Performance Management products and hosts for which you must configure this function to use each item. The product name display function can be used for all versions of PFM - Agent and PFM - RM.
