3.4.2 Examining monitoring agent management methods

The system administrator should examine how to manage the monitoring agents within the operation monitoring system. With Performance Management, differences in programs being monitored are not considered and the following monitoring agent management methods are provided to allow monitoring agents to be managed:

• Monitoring by the agent levels grouped together for each PFM - Agent or PFM - RM
  This method monitors by the agent levels grouped together by folder for each PFM - Agent or PFM - RM product.
  
• Monitoring by agent levels created for each logon user
  This method monitors by agent levels created specifically for each logon user. Folders can be freely configured in units such as system configurations and organizations.
  

Create agent levels for monitoring to match the environment in which the operation monitoring system is operated. For details on managing monitoring agents, see the chapter that describes monitoring agents in the Job Management Partner 1/Performance Management User's Guide.
