4.7.1 Controlling the load balancer from management functionality

To control the load balancer from management functionality on a system that uses the Smart Composer functionality, you must arrange the load balancer, and also set up an environment to connect to the load balancer on the host for allocating the management functionality.

System configuration example

Following figure shows an example of system configuration for controlling the load balancer from the management functionality. This subsection describes the settings to enable the control of load balancer from the management functionality by allocating load balancer to the system built in 4.1 System setup for improving machine performance by allocating Web server to a different host.

Figure 4-12 Configuration example of the system for controlling the load balancer from the management functionality

[Figure]

The following table describes the settings used in the example:

Table 4-37 Settings used in the example (controlling the load balancer from the management functionality)

Classification Item Example of settings
Entire system Easy Setup definition file name MyWebSystemDef.xml
Web system name MyWebSystem
Service unit name unit1
Load balancer Load balancer name MyAX2000
Load balancer type ACOS
Management IP address of the load balancer 192.168.100.10
Virtual server name www.sample.com
IP address of a virtual server 192.168.1.10
Port number of virtual server 80
Host for allocating Web server Host name apsv1
IP address (Management IP Address)# 192.168.100.11
Host for allocating J2EE server Host name apsv2
IP address (Management IP Address)# 192.168.100.12

Note: In a single network configuration, the same IP address serves as the business IP address and the management IP address.

Tasks to be executed and their necessity

Following table describes the tasks to be executed when setting up a system for controlling the load balancer from the management functionality, and the necessity of these tasks. You can use the Smart Composer functionality to control the load balancer from the management functionality.
