Connect to Application Server and install a new Application Server. With a new installation, use the product media, installer. For details on how to use an installer, see the documentation for the product media.

This subsection describes the procedure for a new installation. The installation operation requires Administrator permissions. For details on the notes on installation, see Appendix J.1 Notes on the installation and un-installation of Application Server, and for details on the error codes used during installation, see Appendix J.6 List of error codes for Application Server installation and un-installation (In Windows).

Procedure

1. Set the product media in the CD-ROM drive.
   In the Hitachi Integrated Installer dialog box, Install the selected software. appears.
   If the Hitachi Integrated Installer dialog box does not appear, use the explorer and double-click the CD-ROM directory HCD_INST.EXE.
   

   Note

   If you copy and install the product media on the hard disk, make sure the copy destination path name does not include ; (semi-colon), . (period), and double-byte characters.

2. Select Application Server and then click the Install button.
   In the Checking Start of Installation - Hitachi Integrated Installer dialog box, Installation will start now. Do you want to continue? appears.
   
3. Click the OK button.
   The Welcome to uCosminexus Application Server Setup Program dialog box appears.
   
4. Click the Next button.
   The Select Install Destination dialog box appears.
   
5. As and when required, select the Install destination folder, and then click the Next button.
   The Select Functionality dialog box appears.
   

   Note

   Do not specify the following path in the Install destination folder:

   • Network drive
   • Path containing 2-byte code
   • Path containing \ / : , ; * ? " < > | $ % ^ ' ! ( ) = + { } @ [ ] ^# (However, excluding the default values in Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 x64, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8 x64, and Windows 7 x64)
   • Path exceeding 50 single-byte characters
   • Path ending with \ (such as C:\)

   #: You cannot specify these characters in the program folder name as well. You cannot specify ; (semi-colon) and / (forward slash) in all the input information.

6. Click the button to the left of Standard - (Recommended).
   The User Information dialog box appears.
   

   Reference note

   You can also select the component software for the product and perform a new installation. In such cases, click the button to the left of Custom - This type of setup is for experienced users and system administrators. All specifiable options can be customized., and in the Select Program dialog box that is displayed, select the component software (program) you want to install, and then click the Next button.

   For details on the component software supporting the products, see 2.2.1(3) Component software supporting the products.

7. Enter the User name and Company name, and then click the Next button.
   The Select Program Folder dialog box appears.
   
8. As and when required, change the Program folder, and then click the Next button.
   The Start Installation dialog box appears.
   
9. Check the specified contents, and if the contents are correct, click the Next button.
   The installation starts. When the installation finishes, the Setup Complete dialog box appears.
   
10. Click the Finish button.
    A window asking whether you want to restart the OS appears.
    
11. Click the Yes button.
    The OS restarts and the new installation of Application Server finishes.
