5.1.1 Starting Remote Control Agent

In the Remote Control Agent setup, specify the automatic startup option, to automatically start Remote Control Agent at Windows startup. For details on the automatic startup settings, see 3.4.1 Start options.

If you do not select the automatic startup option, or when you want to restart Remote Control Agent after exiting it, you must use the manual procedure. In the situation, open the Remote Control Agent program folder or the JP1/Software Distribution's program folder and choose the Remote Control Agent icon to start Remote Control Agent.

When Remote Control Agent starts, the task bar will show the Remote Control Agent icon, or the Status window appears. The figure below shows the Remote Control Agent icon.

For details on how to display the Status window, see 5.1.2 Showing the Status window.

If the display icon setting was not specified during setup, neither the Remote Control Agent icon nor the Status window appears when Remote Control Agent starts.

In Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, the Remote Control Agent icon is not displayed on the taskbar. If you want to display the icon on the taskbar, choose Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, and then Customize icons on the taskbar. Next, select Show icon and notifications for Behaviors for the Remote Control Agent icon.
