3.2.2 Creating a new installation set

To create a new installation set:

  1. Insert the installation medium containing JP1/Software Distribution Client into the drive.
  2. Start Administrator Tool.
    The Startup Kit dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Startup Kit dialog box, specify the name of the installation set in the Installation set name text box.
    The following restrictions are applied regarding the characters that can be used for installation set names.
    • Available characters are the same as for directory names. You can use no more than 32 characters.
    • You cannot use the following characters: \, /, *, ", :, |, <, >, and ?
    • Since upper-case and lower-case characters are not distinguished, you cannot use names that become identical when they are converted from upper case to lower case or vice versa.
  4. Click the New button.
    The Installation Set Type dialog box shown in Figure 3-3 appears.

    The components of the Installation Set Type dialog box are as follows:
    For CD-ROM radio button
    Select this button to create an installation set for a CD-ROM.
    For file server radio button
    Select this button to create an installation set for a file server.
    For FTP server radio button
    Select this button to create an installation set for an FTP server.
  5. Select the type of installation set and click the OK button.
    When you click the OK button, the Create or Edit Installation Set dialog box appears. In this dialog box, you set the details for installing JP1/Software Distribution Client. For details about the Create or Edit Installation Set dialog box, see 3.3 Setting the details about an installation set.
  6. When you complete the settings in the Create or Edit Installation Set dialog box, click the OK button.
    The system returns to the Startup Kit dialog box. The created installation set is displayed in the Installation sets list. If an error message appears, correct the error as instructed by the message. Then click the OK button again.
  7. Copy the installation set to a CD-ROM (for an installation set for a CD-ROM).
    When you create an installation set for a CD-ROM, you must copy the created installation set from the local directory to a CD-ROM. After creating the installation set, copy all the files and directories from the directory that contains the installation set to the CD-ROM.
