After you install JP1/Software Distribution Administrator Kit, you need to install the Startup Kit Support Tool component of JP1/Software Distribution Client. You cannot create an installation set without installing the Startup Kit Support Tool component.

To install the Startup Kit Support Tool component:

1. Log on using the user account with the Administrator permissions.
2. Load the installation medium (JP1/Software Distribution Client) into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Execute the installer.
   Perform the following according to the instructions of the installer:
   
   • Register the user.
   • Set the installation path.
   • Select the type.
     To use JP1/Software Distribution Client 08-00 or later, open the Select Manager Type dialog box and choose Client.
     Specifying settings in the Select Manager Type dialog box is unnecessary when you want to use JP1/Software Distribution Client 07-50 or earlier or when the operating system on your machine is Windows 98.
     
   • Select the component.
     Select Startup Kit Support Tool as the component to be installed.
     

Note

The version of the Startup Kit Support Tool component must match the version of the installation medium (JP1/Software Distribution Client). For example, if the version of the installed Startup Kit Support Tool component is 08-00 and the version of the installation medium is other than 08-00, you cannot create an installation set. In such a case, install a Startup Kit Support Tool component whose version matches that of the installation medium.
