11.9 Releasing print suppression

If print operations are suppressed by the higher system (managing server), the client PC cannot perform printing. You can tell when suppression of print operations is in effect because the [Figure] icon indicating print-suppression status is displayed in the client PC's task tray.

It is possible to temporarily release print suppression. You do this by entering a password that has been set for releasing print suppression. Such a password can be set when the operation monitoring policy is created. If a password for releasing print suppression was not set during creation of the operation monitoring policy, print suppression cannot be released.

Print suppression release remains in effect until the client logs off. However, if the operation monitoring policy is redistributed, or an operation monitoring service is restarted while print suppression release is in effect, print suppression is enabled again immediately even though the client has not logged off.

To release print suppression temporarily:

  1. Double-click the print suppression icon displayed in the client PC's task tray.
The Release Print Suppression dialog box appears. If the Release Print Suppression dialog box is not displayed but instead a message indicating print-suppression status is displayed, print suppression cannot be released because no password for releasing print suppression has been set.
  2. Enter the password for releasing print suppression.
For the password, check with the administrator who created the operation monitoring policy.
  3. Click the OK button.
Print suppression is released and a message to that effect is displayed.
