You can automatically report inventory information to the managing server when a new client is added to a JP1/Software Distribution system.

This notification facility requires certain settings when you set up the JP1/Software Distribution Managers and JP1/Software Distribution Clients used in the JP1/Software Distribution system.

Settings in Software Distribution Manager and Software Distribution Client (relay system)

In the Detailed Information Setup dialog box, on the Communication page, select the Automatically register this computer in the system configuration check box and the Also report this computer's inventory to the server check box.

Settings in Software Distribution Client (client)

On the Connection Destination page, select the Automatically register this computer in the system configuration check box and the Also report this computer's inventory to the server check box.
