This window lists Asset Information Manager Subset's managed items and the items that are assigned to them. To set an assigned item, click the Browse button for the corresponding managed item.
- Organization of this subsection
- (1) Registering group information
- (2) Setting an assigned item for groups
(1) Registering group information
When groups are managed by the user inventory information, you can register that information in the Asset Information Manager Subset database.
- Reference note
- You can also register group names according to the IP groups to which the IP addresses collected as the inventory information belong. By also using the setting for registering according to IP groups, you can register the group names of assets that were not assigned in the user inventory information, according to IP groups. For details about how to register groups according to IP groups, see 10.2.3(6) Settings for a group that uses a group-specific IP group in the manual Setup Guide.
The following figure shows an example of registering new groups using the group information in the user inventory as the assigned item:
Figure 10-82 Example of assignment to asset information when the group information is used as the assigned item
![[Figure]](FIGURE/ZU113220.GIF)
The group name acquired from the user inventory information is converted to the representation used by Asset Information Manager Subset according to the hierarchy of user inventory information. The resulting value is then assigned to the group information and the corresponding group is registered in the asset information Group name.
If there is no corresponding group, a new group is added to the group information, and the information about the added group is registered in the asset information Group name.
You can also specify not to perform group registration if there is no corresponding group.
(2) Setting an assigned item for groups
To set an assigned item for groups, use the Assign Inventory - Group dialog box, which is displayed by clicking the Browse button for Group information.Group name in the Assign Inventory window.

From the items displayed in the Assign Inventory - Group dialog box, select an assigned item:
Here, select Get from the user inventory.
- Do not set (default)
A group name is not registered from the user inventory information.
If the setting is used in which group names are registered using Group-Specific IP Group, group names specific to IP groups are registered.
- Enter the group to which the user belongs
The Group in the group information is registered based on the user name in the user inventory information. Note that the user acquired from the user inventory information must already be registered as a user of Asset Information Manager Subset.
Also, when you specify this item you must ensure that the information acquired from the user inventory information will be registered in User name of the asset information of Asset Information Manager Subset.
- Get from the user inventory
The group acquired from the user inventory is registered in Group of the asset information of Asset Information Manager subset. When you specify this item, also make a setting from Group01 to Group10 according to the group level in the managing server.
If you select the Add check box, the group is registered as a new group if there is no corresponding group information in Asset Information Manager Subset.
For details about how a group hierarchy is created in JP1/Software Distribution, see the Define User Inventory dialog box that is displayed from Remote Installation Manager. For Group01 through Group10, set the same character string as Item name in the Define User Inventory dialog box.
For details about how to create the level of groups in the managing server, see 3.3.2 Creating user inventory items.
Set the update method for the value selected to the item to be assigned to Overwrite setting.
- Overwrite (default)
Even though the value is registered in the Asset Information Manager Subset database, it is overwritten by the acquired inventory information value. If the applicable value in the collected inventory information is NULL or N/A, the value that has been registered is deleted.
- Overwrite (Not overwritten if NULL or N/A.)
Even though the value is registered in the Asset Information Manager Subset database, it is overwritten by the acquired inventory information value. However, if the applicable value in the collected inventory information is NULL or N/A, it is not overwritten.
- Not overwritten
If the value has been registered in the Asset Information Manager Subset, it is not overwritten.
