You use this job to manage the names of installed software assets. You can also set whether or not installation is to be permitted for each software item.
The default is that only the administrator can execute Installed Software.
To manage installed software assets, use the Installed Software window, which is displayed by clicking the Installed Software job menu item. The following figure shows the Installed Software window.

Installed software name displays the installed software name and version. If a file name has been registered, the file name, file size, and file date are also displayed. If a package ID has been acquired, the package former attribute and package ID are also displayed.
For each installed software item, not only the name and version but the following information is provided:
- Permission
Sets whether or not installation of the software is to be permitted. By specifying this information, you can manage the software to protect against unauthorized installation or usage.
- Software type
Sets the type of software. By setting the type to be managed separately from other software assets, you can use this information in user reports, etc.
If inventory information is registered, Normally, Office products, Virus definition, or Operating system is set.
- Managed level
Sets the level at which licenses are to be managed. For details about this item, see the manual Job Management Partner 1/Asset Information Manager Administrator's Guide.

The installed software name is the name of the software as it is installed on the device. When an installed software asset is added on the Software page in the Device Details dialog box, the name registered here is selected as the installed software name.
To register a new installed software name:
- Click the Add button.
The Add Installed Software dialog box appears.
To cancel, click the Close button.
- Specify an item.

) is mandatory.
- In the Add Installed Software dialog box, click the OK button.
The Add Installed Software dialog box closes, and the installed software name is registered based on the specified information.
The following figure shows the Add Installed Software dialog box in which the software name to be registered is specified.

To change the name, version, permission, and type of installed software:
- From the search results in the Installed Software window, click the link of the installed software name to be changed.
The Installed Software Details dialog box appears.
To cancel, click the Close button.
- Edit each item.
- Click the Update button.
Information about the installed software asset is updated based on the edited information.
- To change information about multiple installed software programs in the batch mode
- You can change the value of Permission and Software type for multiple installed software programs in the batch mode.
- Select the check boxes for the names of the installed software that you wish to change, click the Batch Update button, and the Batch Update dialog box is displayed.
- In the Installed Software - Batch Update dialog box, specify Permission or Software type, and then click the OK button. The information is updated to the specified value.
- Note
- If you change any of Installed software name, Installed software version, File name, File size, File date, Package former attribute, or Package ID in the installed software information acquired from inventory information, the software will be treated as a different software item the next time the inventory information is acquired.
To delete an installed software name, select its check box in the search results of the Installed Software window, and then click the Delete button.
