8.6.2 Customizing the Create Job dialog box

You can modify the default values on each page of the Create Job dialog box according to your preferences.

(1) Customization method

To modify the default values of the Create Job dialog box:

  1. In the Job Definition window, choose Edit and then Customize.
    The Customize Job Definition dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the Create Job dialog box option.
    The Customize the Create Job Dialog Box dialog box is displayed.

    The page titles and item names in the Customize the Create Job Dialog Box dialog box correspond to those in the Create Job dialog box. The values you set in the Customize the Create Job Dialog Box dialog box become the default values in the Create Job dialog box. Note, however, that the items to be set on the Options page of the Create Job dialog box differ depending on the type of job to be executed. Therefore, in the Customize the Create Job Dialog Box dialog box, you set default values on a separate Options page for each applicable job type.
    For items whose default values can be customized, see (2) Items that can be customized below.
  3. Change default values as desired and choose OK.
    The default values in the Create Job dialog box are changed.

(2) Items that can be customized

The items that can be customized on each page of the Customize the Create Job Dialog Box dialog box and their system default values are described as follows.

Items are displayed when the following job types are specified:
  • Install package
  • Transfer package to relay system (for JP1/Software Distribution Manager)
  • Send package, allow client to choose

If the job type is Transfer package to relay system or Send package, allow client to choose, Unicast distribution is set in the Create Job dialog box regardless of the default value setting.

You can specify a value when you select Split package and then distribute in Split distribution settings.
Collect File page

You can click the Details button to display the Detailed Options for Remote Collection dialog box and specify the following items in it.

Options for Getting System Information page

This page corresponds to the Options page of the Create Job dialog box, which is displayed when the job type is Get system information from client.

Transfer user inventory schema to client page

This page corresponds to the Options page of the Create Job dialog box, which is displayed when the job type is Transfer user inventory schema to client. This page is displayed only when you are using a relational database.

No user inventory items should be omitted Disabled
Disable cancellation of the client user Disabled

Package Setup Manager is disabled at the client until the user inventory information is returned Disabled
Data after finishing the information setup Client user decides whether to save or save and report.
Schedule page

You can specify items in the Set the execution time details dialog box, which is displayed when an item in the Schedule page is selected and the Details button is clicked.
