4.1.2 Components of the Inventory Viewer window

This section describes the components of the Inventory Viewer window. The Count Clients window and Template Management window are not displayed when the Inventory Viewer window first opens. The Count Clients window is displayed when you count hosts by inventory items; the Template Management window is displayed when you edit templates.

Host-selection window
You use this window to select the host or host group containing the inventory information items you want to display or count.
If you want to select as the target the hosts under a relay system, use the System Configuration page. If you want to select as the target the hosts in a host group, use the Host Groups page. You can also select all hosts (or host groups) or any individual host.

Table-format window
This window displays inventory information for each host in the format of a table. You can display only the necessary inventory items or display only the hosts for which the specific information is available.
Immediately after Inventory Viewer starts, the table-format window displays inventory information from the previous display conditions.

Count Clients window
Count Result page
This page displays count results. On the left side, the number of hosts is displayed for each item. On the right side, host details are displayed for the item selected on the left side. You can display any inventory item on the right side.
Graph page (a tab showing the name of the count item is displayed next to the Count Result tab)
This page displays the count results as a three-dimensional bar graph or pie chart.

Template Management window
You use this window to manage the templates that contain display or count conditions. You can create subfolders to manage templates hierarchically.

Status bar
While you are displaying inventory information, the status bar shows the number of items currently displayed. While you are counting hosts, the status bar displays the processing progress as a percentage.
