The collected software information is displayed in the Installed Packages or Software Inventory page in the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window.
The page used to display the software information depends on what is specified in Software to be searched by a Get software information from client job. The software search items that are displayed on each page are explained below:
- Installed Packages page
- Search software installed by Software Distribution
- Search all software
- Search for software in "Add/Remove Programs"
- Software Inventory page
- Search for a file
- Search for Microsoft Office products
- Search for anti-virus products
- Organization of this subsection

To display software information as follows:
- In the left-hand frame of the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, select the host whose software information is to be displayed.
- Select the Installed packages or Software inventory page.
Software information is displayed in the right-hand frame.
The page that is displayed when each tab is selected is explained below.
(a) Installed Packages page
Selecting the Installed Packages tab opens the Installed Packages page. A display example of the Installed Packages page follows.

The right-hand frame of the window shows software information. The following items are displayed in the software information:
- Software and patches that are locally installed on the client are displayed using the icon for Other companies' software. Both the version and generation number are displayed as 0000.
- Patches that have not been applied to the computer are displayed with the icon for Unapplied patch, and their software IDs begin with BSA-. Both the version and generation number are displayed as 0000.
The IDs of software and patches locally installed on a client are set as follows:
If the client's OS is Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000:
- The software IDs of software and patches registered in Add/Remove Programs under Windows Control Panel begin with WUA- or WUA-SUP.
- The software IDs of software and patches not registered in Add/Remove Programs begin with SUP-.
If the client's OS is Windows XP or Windows Server 2003:
- The software IDs of software and patches registered in Add/Remove Programs under Windows Control Panel begin with WUA-.
- All 64-bit applications begin with WUA-64-.
- The software IDs of patches that are displayed by selecting the check box Show updates in Add/Remove Programs begin with WUA-, SUP-, or WUA-SUP.
- The software IDs of software and patches not registered in Add/Remove Programs begin with SUP-.
If the client's OS is Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Vista:
- The software IDs of software and patches registered in Programs and Features under Windows Control Panel begin with WUA-.
- All 64-bit applications begin with WUA-64-.
- The software IDs of patches that are displayed by selecting the check box View installed updates in Add/Remove Programs begin with WUA-, SUP-, or WUA-SUP.
- The software IDs of software and patches not registered in Programs and Features or View installed updates begin with SUP-.
- With respect to the following types of software, the package ID might be duplicated and the correct information might not be collected:
- Software recorded in Add/Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel
- Patches that have been applied to the computer
- Patches that have not been applied to the computer
To avoid duplication of package IDs, select the Do not repeat package IDs when collecting software information check box on the Job Options page in the client setup. For details about the Job Options page, see 6.2.10 Job Options page in the manual Setup Guide.
- Update data installed on the security PC is displayed with the icons for Hitachi program products, and its ID begins with SPC-.
- The Installation or search date/time field displays one of the following dates and times depending on the installation method:
- Software installed by JP1/Software Distribution
Displays the installation date/time.
- Software installed by a method other than JP1/Software Distribution
In the case of software that was registered in Add/Remove Programs on Control Panel, its installation date/time is displayed. For any other software, including software whose installation date/time cannot be acquired, the date/time the software information was acquired by the Get software information from client job is displayed.
Note that in the case of software installed on a UNIX system, Installation or search date/time is not displayed.
- If the Include Hitachi program products in the "Add/Remove Programs" check box was selected during client setup, information about the same Hitachi program product may be displayed in both Hitachi program products and Add/Remove Programs.
If duplicate information is displayed, restrict the software to be displayed. For details about how to restrict the software to be displayed, see 3.2.6(2) Restricting the software to be displayed.
- A maximum of the first 50 byte length of a hotfix name can be displayed in Installed package page. If the length of a hotfix name is 51 byte or more, it will be converted so that the hotfix number can be included within the 50 byte length in the following steps.
- The table below indicates correspondence before and after the hot fix name conversion. If a hotfix name corresponds to one in "Before Conversion",it will be converted as the table indicates.

- For hotfixes whose names are not converted in the step 1, if the hotfix number is not included within the 50 byte length, a hotfix name that is prefixed with it will be truncated and displayed in "Installed package". In a hotfix name, a six-digit or seven-digit number prefixed with "KB", "kb", "Q", or "wm" is considered as the hotfix number. Also, a six-digit or seven-digit number that is prefixed with "KB", "kb", "Q", or "wm" enclosed in parentheses or that is suffixed with a version number is considered as the hotfix number.
(b) Software Inventory page
Selecting the Software Inventory tab opens the Software Inventory page. A display example of the Software Inventory page follows.

The right-hand frame of the window displays Japanese-language font software. The software information consists of the items described below:
When you display software information in the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, you can restrict the types of software to be displayed.
(a) Install packages page
On the Installed packages page of the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, in the View menu's Filter Software, you can set the types of software to be displayed by selecting the software ID. The following describes the options for displaying software. In the system default, all items are selected. For the details of the software ID, see (1) Displaying software information.
- Software in "Add/Remove Programs"
- Displays information about the software and patches with IDs that begin with WUA-, WUA-64-, or WUA-SUP.
- Patch Information
- Displays information about patches with IDs that begin with WUA-SUP or SUP-.
- Unapplied Patch information
- Displays information about patches with IDs that begin with BSA- and that have not been applied to the computer.
- Other Software
- Displays the information about software that does not fit in any of the preceding three categories.
Combining a filter selected in Software to be searched of the Get software information from client job and an option selected on the Filter Software menu allows you to perform the following types of software management:
- Managing only software installed by Software Distribution
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search software installed by Software Distribution as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information.

- Display the information about the installed packages, and in View - Filter Software, choose only Add/Remove Programs and Other software.

- Managing only software registered in Add/Remove Programs
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search software listed in "Add/Remove Programs" as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information.
- Display the information about the installed packages, and in View - Filter Software, choose only Software in "Add/Remove Programs".
- Managing both software installed by JP1/Software Distribution and software registered in Add/Remove Programs
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search software installed by Software Distribution as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information.
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search software listed in "Add/Remove Programs" as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information again.
- Display the information about the installed packages, and in View - Filter Software, choose only Software in "Add/Remove Programs" and Other software.
- Managing the patches that have been applied to the computer
- Specify either Search all software or Search software listed in "Add/Remove Programs" for the Software to be searched option of the Get software information from client job and collect software information.
- Display the information about the installed packages, and in View - Filter Software, choose only Patch Information.
- Managing the patches that have not been applied to the computer
- Specify either Search all software or Search software listed in "Add/Remove Programs" for the Software to be searched option of the Get software information from client job and collect software information.
- Display the information about the installed packages, and in View - Filter Software, choose only Unapplied Patch information.
- Managing all types of software information
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search all software as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information.
- In the Get software information from client job, select Search software installed by Software Distribution as the Software to be searched option, and collect software information again.
- Display the information about the installed packages, and choose all menus displayed in View - Filter Software.
(b) Software inventory page
On the Software inventory page of the System Configuration, Destination or Directory Information window, in the View menu's Filter Software, you can switch between showing and hiding the software information collected using Search for a file, Search for Microsoft Office products, and Search for anti-virus products. After selecting the Software inventory page, in the View menu's Filter Software, select the software type to be displayed.
