2.5.6 Setting the distribution time in two stages

It may be more efficient to transfer a package in stages at different times than all at once. This way, you can avoid using the network during hours when traffic is heavy between the managing server and relay systems and during hours when traffic is heavy between relay systems and clients. In this case, first use a Transfer package to relay system job to transfer the package to a relay system, and subsequently execute an Install package job. The first job's execution date/time is when transfer of the package from the managing server to the relay system is to occur, and the second job's execution date/time is when the transfer of the package from the relay system to the clients is to occur.

You specify a job execution date/time on the Schedule page in the Create Job dialog box during job creation.

The following figure shows an example of package distribution in two stages.

You can set an installation date and time for each package. This means that the date/time specification is available in three stages.
