1.4.9 Window operation

This subsection explains the window operation of the Remote Installation Manager.

(1) Opening a new window

To open a new window from the Remote Installation Manager window, from File, choose New, and then choose the desired window from the menu that opens below it. There is no limit on the number of windows that can be open at the same time. You can also open more than one instance of the same type of window.

(2) Arranging the windows

When you display multiple windows in the Software Distribution window, you can arrange them to make operation of Remote Installation Manager easier. Six windows, excluding the List of Software Information window, can be arranged. However, only three or four can be framed simultaneously.

To arrange windows:

  1. From Options, choose Arrangement Pattern.
    The Arrangement Pattern dialog box appears.

    Pattern
    Select the number of windows to be displayed and their positional relationships. Windows of the same type will be arranged at the same location. Therefore, when multiple windows of the same type are displayed, they will be displayed on top of each other.
    Window
    Select the windows to be arranged. Selecting a window name from Select from and clicking > moves the window name to Selected window. To cancel a window selection, select its window name from Selected window and click <. To cancel all selections, click <<.
    The order in Selected window corresponds to the numbers (1 through 4) in the pattern. In the preceding example, the System Configuration, Package, and Job Status windows are arranged in positions 1, 2, and 3, respectively, of pattern 1. If the selected window is not being displayed when arranging is executed, the corresponding location in the Remote Installation Manager window is left empty.
  2. Click OK.
    The setting takes effect and the Arrangement Pattern dialog box closes.
  3. From Window, choose Arrange All.
    The windows are arranged according to the specified layout.

(3) Changing the window font

When multiple windows are displayed in the Remote Installation Manager window, there may be some information that you wish to view that is not displayed. In such a case, you can display more information by changing the font used in the windows.

To change the window font:

  1. From View, choose Font.
    The Font dialog box appears.

    In this dialog box, you can set the following properties:
    • Font name
    • Style
    • Size
    • Script
  2. Set the desired items, and then click OK.
    The specified values take effect, and the Font dialog box closes.
