1.4.7 Directory Information window

The Directory Information window displays the directory information that is managed by Active Directory. If you link Active Directory, you can view a client's computer information and user information.

This subsection discusses the information displayed in the Directory Information window and how to assign Active Directory's computer information and JP1/Software Distribution's system configuration information.

The left-hand frame of the window displays the hierarchical structure of domains, organizational units (OUs), groups, and computers managed by Active Directory. You can display the members (groups and computers) belonging to each group by double-clicking a displayed group or by choosing View and then Members while a group is selected.

The right-hand frame displays the same seven tabs as in the System Configuration window plus the following tab:

Directory Information tab
Displays a list of computer and user information that is managed by Active Directory.

When information is acquired from Active Directory, the displayed information differs from the information that is displayed on the same seven tabs of the System Configuration window. The following describes the information displayed on each tab.

Attributes tab
If you select an organizational unit (OU) or a group from the left-hand frame of the window, hierarchical directory information is displayed in Route.
If the system configuration information has been assigned
The information managed by the managing server as well as the following information acquired from Active Directory are displayed:
  • Host name
  • Type
  • Group
If the system configuration information has not been assigned
Only the following information acquired from Active Directory is displayed:
  • Host name
  • Type
  • Group

Other tabs
If the system configuration information has been assigned
The information managed by the managing server is displayed.
If the system configuration information has not been assigned
No information is displayed.
