Description

Displaying server status:

The monshow command displays the status of the servers running on the host (local host) where this command is executed and the status of servers on paired hosts (remote hosts). The command does not display the status of inactive servers. If the multi-standby function is used, the command displays the status of all servers running on remote hosts. The command displays the following information:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Own Server: Information about servers on the local host

    For the information about servers on the local host, the command displays the following:

    Alias: Alias name of a server on the local host

    Status: Status of a server on the local host

    The following table describes the local host server statuses that are displayed by the command.

    For the information about servers on remote hosts, the command displays the following:

    Status: Status of a server on a remote host

    The following table describes the remote host server statuses that are displayed by the command.

Displaying host status:

The command displays the status of remote hosts that are connected to the local host. The command displays the following information:

  • Host name: Host name

  • Host address: Host address

  • Patrol time: Host failure monitoring time

Displaying server group status:

The command displays the status of grouped servers (server groups) that are running on the host (local host) on which the command is executed. The command displays the following information:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Group name: Group name of the server group

The command also displays the information listed below for each server in the server group. If the server group contains a resource server, the command also displays information about the resource server.

  • Alias: Server alias name

  • Status: The following information is displayed:

    •Whether grouped-system switchover can be performed on the server

    possible: Grouped-system switchover can be performed

    impossible: Grouped-system switchover cannot be performed

    •Switchover type

    exchange: Switchover is enabled

    no_exchange cancel: Switchover is disabled

    When information about an active server is displayed, the switchover type is displayed, but when information about a standby server is displayed, the switchover type is not displayed.

Displaying information about shared resources:

The command displays information about the shared resources that are used by the active server on the host (local host) on which the command is executed. The command displays the following information:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Server: Server alias name on the local host

  • *** DISK information ***: Information about a shared disk

    The command displays the following information about a shared disk:

    •Special file names of volume groups

    •Whether the function for canceling server startup processing in the event of a connection error on a shared resource is to be used

    •Options to be applied when volume groups are placed online

  • *** File system information ***: Information about file systems

    The command displays the following information about a file system:

    •File system name

    •Target directory for mounting

    •Mounting options

  • *** SCSI device information ***: Symbolic link or logical device name (when multipath software is HDLM)

  • *** DMMP device information ***: Logical device name (when multipath software is DMMP)

Displaying resource server status:

The command displays a resource server's status in addition to the information provided in Displaying server status.

Displaying server priority when the multi-standby function is used:

If the multi-standby function is used, the command displays the priority of a specified server or of all servers for each host, in addition to the information provided in Displaying server status. status is followed by the following information:

  • pri: Host's priority

Displaying the server failure monitoring time:

The command displays the server failure monitoring time of the servers that are running on the host where the command is executed.

The command displays the following information:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Alias: Server alias name

  • Patrol time: Server failure monitoring time

    For a server for which no server failure monitoring time has been specified, hyphens (---) are displayed.

Displaying monitor-mode program status:

The command displays the status of a program that uses the monitor-mode program management function and is running on the host (local host) where the command was executed:

  • Alias: Server alias name

  • Program Alias: Alias of the monitor-mode program

  • Status: Status of the monitor-mode program

    The following table lists the statuses that are displayed for monitor-mode programs.

Displaying the server monitoring status and disk monitoring status:

The command displays the following monitoring statuses:

  • Monitoring status of the server# and monitoring status of disks for business use

  • Monitoring status of the system disk

The status of the monitoring for the patrolcommand operand in the server environment definition is not displayed.

The following items are displayed as the monitoring status of the server and disks for business use:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Alias: Server alias name

  • Function: Type of monitoring

    The following items are displayed:

    ptrlcmd_ex: Monitoring of the server

    sby_ptrlcmd_ex: Monitoring of the server in the standby system

    disk_ptrl: Monitoring of disks for business use

  • Status: Monitoring status

    One of the following strings is displayed:

    patrol: Now monitoring

    patrol paused: Monitoring temporarily stopped

    ----: Monitoring not performed

The following items are displayed as the monitoring status of the system disk:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Host name: Host name of the local host

  • Function: Type of monitoring

    The following items are displayed:

    disk_ptrl: Monitoring of the system disk

  • Status: Monitoring status

    One of the following strings is displayed:

    patrol: Now monitoring

    patrol paused: Monitoring temporarily stopped

Displaying the host setting status:

The following items are displayed as the setting status of the host:

  • Own host name: Host name of the local host

  • Host name: Host name of the local host

  • Function: The following items are displayed:

    Online serverless mode: onlless_mode

  • Status: Setting status

    Either of the following strings is displayed:

    use: Set

    nouse: Released

If no option is specified, the command displays the server status.

Displaying server status:
  • server-alias-name

    Specifies the alias name of a server whose status is to be displayed. If this option is omitted, the command displays the status of all servers running on the host where the command is executed.

Displaying host status:
  • -c

    Specifies that host status is to be displayed.

Displaying server group status:
  • -g

    Specifies that server group status is to be displayed.

    If a group contains a resource server, the command also displays the status of the resource server.

  • group-name

    Specifies the group name of the server group whose status is to be displayed. If this option is omitted, the command displays the status of all server groups that are running on the host where the command is executed.

Displaying information about shared resources:
  • -d

    Specifies that information about shared resources is to be displayed.

  • server-alias-name

    Specifies the alias name of a server for which shared resource information is to be displayed. If this option is omitted, the command displays shared resource information for all servers.

Displaying resource server status:
  • -r

    Specifies that resource server status information is to be displayed, in addition to the information shown in Displaying server status.

Displaying server priority when the multi-standby function is used:
  • -p

    Specifies that when the multi-standby function is used, the priority of a specified server or of all servers on the host is to be displayed.

  • server-alias-name

    Specifies the alias name of a server whose status and priority are to be displayed. If this option is omitted, the command displays the status and priorities of all servers that are running on the host where the command is executed. The order in which information about servers on remote hosts is displayed depends on the order in which hosts and servers were started. This order is not always the same.

Displaying the server failure monitoring time:
  • -t

    Specifies that the server failure monitoring time of the servers running on the host where the monshow command is executed is to be displayed.

  • server-alias-name

    Specifies the alias name of a server whose monitoring interval is to be displayed. If this option is omitted, the command displays the server failure monitoring time for all servers running on the host where the command is executed.

Displaying monitor-mode program status:
  • -u

    Displays the status of a program that uses the monitor-mode program management function and has been running on the host where the monshow command is executed.

  • server-alias-name

    Specifies the alias of the server whose program status is to be displayed. If this operand is omitted, the command displays the statuses of all programs that are running on the host where the command is executed.

Displaying the server monitoring status and disk monitoring status:
  • -o -s server-alias-name

    The monitoring status of the server and disks for business use are displayed. If a server alias name is specified, the monitoring status of the server and the monitoring status of the disks for business use on that server are displayed. If a server alias name is not specified, the monitoring status of all servers and the monitoring status of the disks for business use on those servers are displayed.

  • -o -m

    The monitoring status of the system disk on the host on which the monshow was executed is displayed.

Displaying the host setting status:
  • -j

    The host setting status is displayed.
