For Linux(R) (x86) Systems HA Monitor Cluster Software

4.6.3 Determining a resource server's status

This subsection explains how HA Monitor determines the status of a resource server.

A resource server is used only to control shared resources. A resource server is always grouped with other servers. Therefore, HA Monitor determines a resource server's status in the same manner as for the other servers in the same group.

A resource server's status is either running or standby. If the group contains a server running as the active server, the resource server is in running status. If the group contains a server running as a standby server, the resource server is in standby status.

For details about determining server status, see 4.1.1 HA Monitor's control of server startup.
