4.6.1 Hot standby when a resource server is used

A resource server is used to share a single shared resource among multiple servers. Therefore, a resource server is always part of a group of servers. A resource server is subject to switchover as a member of the server group.

The following figure shows the hot standby processing when a resource server is used.

A resource server is switched over as part of the server group when a failure occurs on one of the servers in the server group that uses the resource server.
