For Linux(R) (x86) Systems HA Monitor Cluster Software

3.3 Functions for host control

In the event of a host failure, HA Monitor performs the hot standby operation and transfers jobs to the standby system. This section explains the functions needed to complete the hot standby operation successfully. In the case of the functions related to host reset, you can achieve successful hot standby operation by using the default settings. We recommend that you read the corresponding subsections before you change the default settings.

Note that the functions that are supported depend on the method for protecting data on a shared disk and whether the function for controlling hot standby based on the availability of LAN communications is used. For details, see 3.1 List of functions supported by HA Monitor.
