This subsection describes the software required to run HA Monitor. The following figure shows an example of a software configuration.

Controls hot standby.

HA Monitor Extension

This is an HA Monitor optional product that controls hot standby in a large system configuration.

To use HA Monitor Extension, you must use host reset in BladeSymphony or HA8000.

In a hot-standby configuration that uses HA Monitor, the range of functions supported by HA Monitor depends on whether the program has an HA Monitor interface. The subsections below describe the programs supported by HA Monitor.

(a) Programs with an HA Monitor interface

OpenTP1: This is a transaction processing monitor that achieves distributed transaction processing.
HiRDB: This is a relational database management system that can achieve a scalable system configuration.

(b) Programs without an HA Monitor interface

Cosminexus: This is a program that provides a platform for performing business-related tasks. Among other products, it includes an application server, an SOA infrastructure product, an OLTP product, and a report-related product.
JP1: This is an integrated system operations management product that supports stable IT system operation. It includes integrated management products, job management products, asset and distribution management products, and network management products.
Other servers: These include servers other than the above, such as UAPs.

HA Monitor Option: Software that controls host reset
HCSM: Software that centrally manages server machines. This is used only if the model is HA8000xN or HA8000xN1.
