9.20 monsbystp (terminates a standby server)

Description

The monsbystp command terminates a standby server that is in one of the following statuses:

• Standby server that has finished startup or that is ready for hot-standby switchover

• Standby server placed in the grouped-system switchover wait state

• Standby server started in the online serverless mode (startup complete state)

Note that if you use the monsbystp command to terminate the standby server that corresponds to an active server that is in the restart wait state, the active server in the restart wait state is also terminated automatically.

If the multi-standby function is used, the monsbystp command terminates only the standby server on the host on which the command is executed. Note that the command's processing depends on the status of the standby server, as described below.

• If you use the monsbystp command to terminate a standby server that is in the grouped-system switchover wait state, the command also terminates automatically all the corresponding standby servers on all hosts.

• If you terminate the standby server that corresponds to an active server that is in the restart wait state and there is no other standby server on standby, the command also terminates automatically the active server that is in the restart wait state.

  Specifies the alias name of the server that is to be terminated.

0	Normal termination (the standby server has been terminated)

Notes

• The monsbystp command can be executed only from a standby system.

• The return code is also set to 0 when any of the following messages is issued while type2 is specified in the exitcode operand in the HA Monitor environment settings:
