6.4.1 Setting up multipath software
You might need to specify settings according to the type of the multipath software. The following describes the multipath software for which you must specify settings.
- Organization of this subsection
(1) Using HDLM multipath software
If you use HDLM multipath software, execute -prsup on of the HDLM driver option configuration utility (dlmsetopt) and restart the hosts. The HDLM driver option configuration utility must be run in all hot-standby configurations. Otherwise, the shared disk might not be protected. For details about the setup and verification procedures, see the Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager Software User's Guide (for Linux(R) systems).
(2) Using DMMP multipath software
If you use DMMP multipath software, specify the following settings.
-
devices section
For the path checker (path_checker), specify a value other than tur (which issues TEST UNIT READY to a device). The queue_if_no_path function is not used (specify 0 for features). For failback (failback), specify the settings for using manual failback.
An example is shown below. For vendor and product, specify values appropriate to the storage being used.
devices { device { vendor "HITACHI" product "DF.*" path_checker directio features "0" failback manual } }
-
Settings when the blacklist section is specified
If you specify the blacklist section, specify it for each WWID or device type. Do not specify it for each device name.
The following example specifies the blacklist section for each WWID:
blacklist { wwid 360060e8010462fe004f2b6ae00000065 }
For details about the name of the settings file and how to specify the settings, see the DMMP documentation.
