29.7.1 Notes

Organization of this subsection
(1) Notes on the IP address that corresponds to the host name to be specified in pdunit
(2) Notes on command execution

(1) Notes on the IP address that corresponds to the host name to be specified in pdunit

When a HiRDB expansion unit is defined, HiRDB start processing completion and system switchover take longer than when no HiRDB expansion unit is defined. Therefore, the following actions must be taken:

(2) Notes on command execution

Once HiRDB expansion units have been defined, the commands listed in the table below must be executed in each unit. If a command is executed on the entire system, command execution may take a long time, or the command may terminate in an error.

When the pdbufmod command is executed, HiRDB accesses all servers including HiRDB expansion units in order to collect global buffer information. Therefore, if there is a stopped HiRDB expansion unit, the RPC communication error message KFPH00132-E (code = -7) is output. However, if message KFPH00110-I is output, processing of the pdbufmod command is completed. In this case, ignore message KFPH00132-E.
