29.4.2 Starting a HiRDB expansion unit

The following is the procedure for starting a HiRDB expansion unit.

Procedure
  1. Start the HiRDB expansion unit.
Use one of the following methods to start the HiRDB expansion unit in each unit:
[Figure] Execute the pdstart -u command on the server machine on which the system manager is located.
[Figure] Execute the pdstart -q command on the server machine on which the HiRDB expansion unit that you want to start is located.
When all HiRDB expansion units have been started, the message KFPS05273-I is output. Therefore, confirm that this message has been output.
  2. Redefine tables.
Because the RDAREAs of HiRDB expansion units also store table data, re-define the tables to row-partition them. For row partitioned tables, modify the table partitioning conditions as described in 13.12 Changing a table's partitioning storage conditions and 13.13 Operation when changing a table's partitioning storage conditions.
