28.2 Procedure for viewing performance trace information

The procedure for viewing performance trace information is as follows.

Hint
When a support service is used, performance trace information files are sent in binary format, and therefore this procedure is not required.
  1. Use the OS's copy command to copy the performance trace information file to a work directory.
Since information in the performance trace information file might be overwritten while it is being used or viewed, copy the performance trace information file and save it in a work directory.
  2. Execute the pdprfed command.
Performance trace information is edited and output in CSV format.
  3. Use a tool that can handle CSV format, such as Excel, to view the performance trace information.
    Note
Performance trace information is output to performance trace information files at 10-second intervals. However, since the information is output via a buffer, it takes time for the latest trace to be output. Therefore, wait about 1 minute after executing an SQL statement for which you want to view performance trace information before you execute the pdprfed command.
