20.10 When the OS terminates abnormally

This section describes the HiRDB processing and the HiRDB administrator's action in the event of abnormal termination of the OS.

(1) HiRDB processing

If the OS terminates abnormally due to an error, HiRDB causes the unit located at the server machine where the OS terminated abnormally to also terminate abnormally.

(2) HiRDB administrator's action

After rebooting the OS, perform the procedure below.

Procedure
To restart HiRDB:
  1. Execute the pdinfoget command to collect a backup of the troubleshooting information that is output under $PDDIR/spool and $PDDIR/tmp.
    For details about how to execute the pdinfoget command, see 20.1.1 Actions to be taken by the HiRDB administrator when an error occurs.
    For details on the troubleshooting information that is output in the event of an error, see 20.1.2 Information collected by HiRDB when an error occurs.
  2. Enter the pdstart command to restart HiRDB. Depending on the pd_mode_conf operand specification, the unit is restarted automatically after the OS is rebooted.
