You can save optimizing information registered in a dictionary table to a parameter file that contains optimized information. Using this facility, you can perform the following operations:

• Save a backup and use it to restore optimizing information.
• For the purpose of tuning, edit any item in the optimizing information saved in a parameter file that contains optimized information, and then re-register the item.
• Save optimizing information in a test environment and register it in a dictionary table in the actual operating environment (only for tables (and indexes) that have the same structure and definition).

To save optimizing information in a parameter file that contains optimized information, use the pdgetcst command.
